Monster Cup: Marvin the Millionaire
October 17 – 2017
The elusive Monster Million. A payday that has attracted the world’s fastest racers for the past seven years. The largest single payday in motorsports hasn’t been awarded since the year it was brought to existence, but Marvin Musquin wasn’t about to let it go another year.
Each year that Marvin has participated in this event he has progressed, last year finishing in 3rd. The flame was lit and the number 25 machine wanted to win.
As the night progressed, Marvin did too. He found more and more comfort on the track and pulled away from the rest of the pack.
The hard charging Eli Tomac would be stopped in the very first moto after a high speed crash. That left Marvin’s training partner, Jason Anderson, to try and fend off the flying Frenchman.
Leading 27 of 30 laps is a sign of pure dominance throughout one night and though we are well in the middle of the off season, Marvin is showing good form leading into the 2018 season. He pushed the tempo throughout the night and didn’t look back. Not once. After the dust settled, Marvin left Vegas that same very night with a huge, cheek to cheek smile and a check that matched just that, good for 1 million dollars. Congratulations Mavin!
